The district of bamberg, as the sponsor and transnational coordinator, would like to join forces with the project partners to create the "european cultural heritage seal" (EKS) apply for cistercian monastery landscapes. In the circle of representatives of the six participating EU member states and five german federal states, district administrator johann kalb and the project team presented the cooperation project for the first time to national and international participants at a conference in berlin. The application in the cultural landscape category is entitled "cisterscapes – cistercian landscapes connecting europe".

On the way to submitting the application in 2021, the project partners in six countries have made it their task to draw attention to the unique historical significance of the cistercian landscapes in europe and to pass this heritage on to the next generations. Thus, the partner states from france, germany, poland, the czech republic, austria and slovenia will carry out joint mabnahmen for the education, exchange and valorization of their regions, as it says in the press release from the district office.

The first presentation of the application in berlin was met with great interest by the representatives of the conference of education ministers and international EHL coordinators. State secretary thomas silberhorn emphasized that initiatives like the application of the district of bamberg for european networking of burghers and municipalities are very important to show common history and cultural wealth.

The representative of the german EKS coordination at the conference of the ministers of education, birgit neumann, welcomed the intention of the district to present such an ambitious transnational application project in 2021 and was able to convince herself of the motivation and qualification of the partner countries for the project through the individual presentations of the partner countries shown on video. At the end of the event, district administrator kalb was very satisfied with the course of the first official presentation of the project in berlin, according to the press release.
